Former Metro Runners Bios
Our program has produced 6 NCAA Division I track athletes, three junior college track athletes, and several NCAA Division II, III and NAIA athletes. In 2007, local product and Metro standout, Ravyn Hayward was ranked as the 17th top sprinter in the country.
Our 13 and 14-year-old boys relay team  won their second national title (back-to-back titles) in Austin 2008. The same relay team also competed in the Hershey International Track and Field meet in August 2007 and placed second in the world beating China, South Africa and Canada. They also hold the fastest time in the country in the 4 x 100 m relay, in every sanctioned track and field organization. Many state and national titles have been won and held by participants of our program. However, Track and Field is not the only focus as stated previously. Was a two year star at Panola (TX) Junior College... as a freshman, helped lead her team to the NJCAA Division I National Championship Tournament... was named Co-MVP and earned all-region honors... as a sophomore, helped lead her team back to the Regional Final... earned first-team all-conference accolades... additionally, she was tabbed the conference's Co-MVP... ... was also named a second-team All-American. High School: Was a three-time district MVP as a star at Hawkins High School... also earned Newcomer of the Year honors as a freshman... two-time second-team all-district and a two-time academic all-district performer... was a three-time academic all-district athlete.. as a senior, voted East Texa Athlete of the Year... also excelled at the club level... played in the National Junior Olympics with the Ace Club Volleyball team.
